My academic background consists of a Master of Prevention Science Degree from Oklahoma University, a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Bachelor's Degree in Communication and Journalism from the University of New Mexico.
I also hold a NM NMCBBHP Sr. Certified Prevention Specialist Credential and an International IC&RC Certified Prevention Specialist Credential.
For the past 20 years I have been working with local, state, federal governments, and with local and national non profit organizations, in the areas of social health, behavioral health, mental health and wellness, substance abuse prevention and health promotion.
My New Mexico clients list include: Bernalillo County, Chaves County, Eddy County, Curry County, Los Alamos County, Otero County, Mora County, Guadalupe County, Soda Creek Consulting, Rael Training and Consulting, UNM, MADD, NMCBBHP.org.
My national clients, including volunteer and technical assistance work are: Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and the National office of Mothers Against Drunk & Drug Driving (MADD).
In addition to my over 20 years of expertise in Mental Health Promotion and Prevention, I have developed great relationships and have access to a very large network of like minded experts in the field that I can access for support and project development when needed.
I am also very flexible and available to travel regionally, nationally, and internationally for initial consultation, ongoing project management, workforce training, and short term projects.
With today's technology, a large portion of my work and your needs can be accomplished from my home base.
Empirically evaluated by UNM-ISR, now in the 7th year, the BE-ATI Campaign is a locally created Social Health & Wellness campaign, funded by the Bernalillo County DWI Program and developed, strategically planned, operationalized, implemented, and evaluated by Prevention Works Consulting LLC.
We currently have partnerships in over 200 public and private schools and an additional 160 community organizational partners.
Our data shows consistent year over year reductions in underage drinking and related risk factors in Bernalillo County.
In FY21 New Mexico Bernalillo County, Curry County, Los Alamos County, Guadalupe County, Mora County, and Chaves County DWI Programs are implementing the Be Above the Influence Campaign with the main goal of reducing and preventing Underage Drinking.
